Our Story

Welcome!  Waymark Academy began as a one-room schoolhouse and has grown into a vibrant, Christ-centered learning community. Today, we are blessed with a beautiful school facility, spacious playgrounds, and 57 rolling acres where children learn, explore, and grow.

The name Waymark is inspired by the Bible and reminds us of markers along a journey - moments to pause, learn, remember God’s faithfulness, and continue forward. It reflects the path we share at school, in life, in our Christian walk, and with the many military families God brings to our community. 

We believe children thrive when learning is tailored to their abilities rather than their grade level. Our preschoolers spend much of their day learning through play and exploring outdoors, while our K-8 students enjoy structured mornings focused on core academics and afternoons filled with hands-on, focused sessions - often in the forest!

At our Caregiver & Me classes we get to connect with parents and their younger children in our outdoor spaces. We have hybrid, forest and nature school programs for all ages. These programs are held entirely outdoors year-round and the students engage in organic, nature-based learning at our base camp, pond, trail walks, sit spots, and seasonal stream play.

At Waymark, we cherish our family atmosphere and the power of community. Our children, families, and staff build lasting relationships rooted in Christ. We strive to ensure every student and every family feels seen, known, and valued.

We believe that parents are a child’s first teachers and that the school and home, together, share the sacred responsibility of shaping both academic understanding and spiritual foundation.
